As human beings, it is impossible to confine us to indoor environments, we need outdoor spaces to breathe, to live, and to survive. This primitive need for open-air spaces has allowed us to integrate them into our homes. Lawns and porches are an example of such spaces. However, these areas also need to be furnished and embellished to our needs.
